La Sagrada Familia

The first time I saw La Sagrada Familia was from the apartments opposite the cathedral where I stayed with friends on a short tip. The image below is about true to the view from our living room window. Like a painting the cathedral is good from a distance and gets better as you approach and start to inspect its details. Gaudí’s buildings are all famously inspired by nature and painstakingly detailed. La Sagrada Familia is no different and resembles some kind of beautiful enchanted cave growing up from the ground.

“Nothing is invented, for it's written in nature first.” - Antoni Gaudí.

“Originality consists of returning to the origin”” ― Antoni Gaudí

Cathedral Interior

The interior off the cathedral is just as beautiful, original and bewildering to see. Every detail inspired by nature and reimagined by Gaudí, the master. the best detail, or the most sensory detail is the stained glass windows. Reds, oranges, blues and greens that have their own original style nothing like is seen on most churches.

“Those who look for the laws of Nature as a support for their new works collaborate with the creator” ― Antoni Gaudí
